About The Company
BKS has been in the structured cabling business since 1991. Bryan Sakata, BKS Cablecom Systems' owner, entered the industry as a small cabling contractor in Vancouver where he focused his energy on becoming the best cabling contractor in the city.
In 1995, BKS became one of the first Netconnect Design and Installer (ND&I) contractors for Commscope/Systimax/Uniprise in British Columbia. This enabled BKS to offer a 25 year manufacturer's warranty on all Commscope/Systimax/Uniprise installations. Today, similar warranties are available for BELDEN and ORTRONICS installations.
After growing entirely through customer referrals and industry recommendations, BKS has reached great heights and is one of the premier voice/data/fibre installers in British Columbia.
In April 2002, BKS became a national company opening its first satellite office with complete cabling services in Toronto.

BKS has always provided training to its employees by keeping them informed of the latest technological advances as well as network cabling methodology. Our installation team has been put through Commscope/Systimax/Uniprise, Belden and Ortronics training courses and this enables us to offer warranties backed by each of those manufacturers.
Certification & Memberships
BICSI
BKS currently has two BISCI RCDD (Registered Communications Distribution Designer) certificate holders as part of our Project Management, Design and Installation Teams.
BICSI established its credential programs to provide a level of assurance to the industry and to consumers that an individual has knowledge in a designated area of information technology systems (ITS) design or installation. These professional designations are valued internationally and are recognized throughout the ITS industry.
BICSI credentials are required to show industry experience and pass rigorous exams based on the content of BICSI manuals. Those who pass must adhere to strict standards of conduct and keep their knowledge current through continuing education.
Commscope/Systimax/Uniprise
BKS Cablecom has been an Commscope/Systimax/Uniprise certified installer since 1995. When you have your network infrastructure installed by an UCI qualified installer, you’re eligible for the Commscope/Systimax/Uniprise performance warranty. This coverage is part of the package when you specify Commscope/Systimax/Uniprise products end-to-end and when a Commscope/Systimax/Uniprise and Installation Contractor registers the network design with Commscope/Systimax/Uniprise. The actual installation is completed in accordance with Commscope/Systimax/Uniprise requirements.
Belden IBDN Structured Cabling Systems Installer
BKS Cablecom is a Certified System Vendor (CSV) of the Belden IBDN Structured Cabling Systems. A Belden IBDN Certified System Vendor (CSV) is an independent structured cabling contractor/integrator that has successfully completed the Belden IBDN CSV Training Program and has entered into a Belden IBDN CSV Agreement. CSVs who sell and install Belden IBDN Certified Systems in accordance with all applicable guidelines are authorized to offer a Belden 25-year Product Warranty and Belden's Lifetime Application Assurance Program to their end-user customers.
Ortronics
BKS Cablecom is Certified Contractor of Ortronics.
Knowledgeable, experienced and well-trained contractors ensure a better return on investment for the end customer's network investment. Ortronics Contractor certification is an important component of successful installations that is often overlooked. Legrand, Ortronics parent company has developed comprehensive certification programs that provide project design and installation services assurance. Certification by Legrand addresses critical design and installation practices. The training and educational curriculum is designed to ensure a robust network infrastructure is installed and verified.
